The sister of 46-year-old Chris Stanley, Melissa Lake, is asking for the public’s help as the search continues for her brother, who has been missing since early December 2025. Lake shared that Stanley was last contacted by family on December 7, and despite extensive efforts by loved ones and local law enforcement, there has been no sign of him since.
According to Lake, while it is not completely out of character for Stanley to unknowingly relocate, he has never disappeared for this long, and he has certainly never gone this long without being in contact with Lake or their shared sister. Lake added that while they do not know of any specific locations where her brother would relocate, he frequents storage units.
Local law enforcement, along with friends and family, have checked multiple locations since Stanley’s disappearance, and the last known plan of Stanley’s was to “leave a friend's house he stayed with from time to time, and go into the woods,” stated Lake.
Lake added that Stanley should be within the local areas. Stanley’s most distinguishing feature is that he is six feet eight inches tall; he responds to the nickname “Too Tall,” and he often travels via bicycle.
If you were to come into contact with or have information pertaining to the whereabouts of Chris Stanley, Lake stated that she can be reached via Facebook Messenger, phone at 606-627-3843, or by contacting the Knox County Attorney’s office at 606-546-9515. Lake added that, if nothing else, she wants to hear from Stanley to confirm that he is alive, safe, and well.
