HARLAN — Knox County’s run through the 12U Baseball All-Star Tournament came to an end Monday night.
Harlan used a five-run fourth inning to pull away and defeat Knox County 9-3 in the Loser’s Bracket Final at Tri-City Little League.
Knox County struck first with a run in the opening inning and added single runs in the fourth and sixth, but Harlan answered with three runs in the second, another in the third and broke the game open with three more in the fourth and two in the fifth.
Hudson Butler led Knox County offensively with two hits and an RBI, while Zayden Cunningham doubled and drove in a run. John Miles and Case Thompson each added hits, and Jacob Mills scored a run after drawing a pair of walks.
Gunner Graggs also scored for Knox County.
Jacob Mills started on the mound and worked 3.1 innings, allowing four earned runs while striking out four. Tripp Taylor followed with 1.1 innings and Hudson Butler finished the final 1.1 innings without allowing a run, striking out one.
Knox County finished with five hits and drew seven walks but committed six errors in the field.
The Knox County 12U All-Star squad, coached by Travis Mills, included Evan Barrett, Gunner Carnes, Zayden Cunningham, Case Thompson, Tucker Greene, Carter Smith, Tripp Taylor, Bryson Asher, Hudson Butler, Gunner Graggs, John Miles and Jacob Mills.
