Knox County 10U All-Stars cruise past Tri-City

HAZARD — Knox County scored nine runs over the first two innings and cruised to a 14-3 victory over Tri-City in first-round action of the 10U Baseball All-Star Tournament Friday at Hazard-Perry Little League.

Knox County pounded out 12 hits and received strong pitching throughout the game while limiting Tri-City to just one hit.

Tremayne James led the way at the plate, going 3-for-3 with three runs scored and four RBI. He also blasted a triple and struck out two batters during his inning of relief.

Luca Shaw added a big game at the plate, finishing 2-for-2 with three runs scored and three RBI. Logan Gibson went 2-for-3 with two RBI and a double while Spencer Sanborn collected two hits and scored three runs. Brantley Asher added a double and a hit, and Griffin Butler chipped in a hit and scored a run.

Asher Wynn drove in a run and drew a walk, while Blevin Priest and Jaxton Hubbard each scored runs.

Logan Gibson started on the mound and tossed 1.2 innings, allowing one hit while striking out four. Ashton Smith worked 1.1 innings and struck out three, allowing three runs, two earned. Tremayne James closed things out with a scoreless inning and two strikeouts.

Knox County scored three runs in the first inning and broke the game open with six more in the second. The squad added a run in the third and four more in the fourth to complete the 11-run victory.

Knox County’s 10U All-Stars are comprised of Luca Shaw, Tremayne James, Asher Wynn, Spencer Sanborn, Logan Gibson, Ashton Smith, Miles Moses, Griffin Butler, Brantley Asher, Blevin Priest, Jaxton Hubbard and Charles Michael Blevins.
