A Knox County man wanted on two felony warrants in connection with an investigation involving allegations of rape and sodomy was taken into custody Wednesday evening after turning himself in at the Knox County Detention Center, according to an update from Kentucky State Police Trooper Shane Jacobs on his professional social media account.
Scotty McVey, 41, of Bimble, was sought by Kentucky State Police after Trp. Jacobs asked for the public’s assistance in locating him. A day later, with the help of family members, McVey arranged to turn himself in to Barbourville Police Officer Jake Knuckles at the detention center.
The details of McVey’s arrest were corroborated by Barbourville Police.
KSP said McVey was wanted on two felony warrants stemming from an ongoing investigation involving allegations of rape and sodomy. Trooper Farris is continuing the investigation.
Additional details concerning the new allegations were not immediately provided, but both charges are in the first degree.
McVey is lodged in the Knox County Detention Center where he awaits arraignment.
