At approximately 11:00 AM this morning, Trooper Sammy Faris was patrolling US 25E in Knox County when he observed a Nissan Xterra traveling at 98 mph with two occupants inside.
Trooper Faris initiated a traffic stop in the Gray community of Knox County. During the stop, it was discovered that the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Tennessee. Further investigation revealed drugs, cash, and a weapon inside the vehicle.
Both individuals, who are from Tennessee, were taken into custody and will be lodged in the Knox County Detention Center pending charges.
