On July 25, 1975, a beautiful bright eyed baby girl blessed the union of Mack and Cheryl Colter in Florence, Arizona. Jacquelyn Shawrie Colter was their firstborn child. Jackie resided in Arizona until the age of two, at which time her family relocated to California where she attended primary grades. She graduated from high school in Tucson, Arizona after her family relocated back to Arizona. Her early career consisted of retail and finance. Jackie resided in California for the majority of her life. She relocated her family to Kentucky in 2022. She and her family joined the West Corbin Baptist Church family shortly upon arrival, where she was employed as a ministry assistant.
Jackie was the most caring and loving person you ever could meet; she never met a stranger. She was adventurous and outgoing. She had an amazing sense of humor that was infectious. Jackie loved horseback riding, watching movies, and drinking chocolate milk, but most of all she loved being a mother.
Jackie was preceded in death by her grandparents Sarah and Walter Colter, Elizabeth Jackson and L.C. Byrd.
To mourn her passing, she leaves behind her parents, Mack and Cheryl Colter; siblings: Bryan Colter and Sarah Colter; her children: Jacklyn Mya (Liz) Skeen, James Logan Skeen, Justin Samuel (Rex) Skeen, Jonah (Sebastain) Skeen, and Julianne Mae Skeen. She is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and many many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at West Corbin Baptist Church with Albert Jones officiating.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. and continue until the funeral hour.
