Posted

Mr. Thomas Hubbard, 71, of Barbourville, passed away Friday morning, October 30, 2026 after a long illness at Baptist Health Corbin and is now in the loving arms of Jesus where there is no more pain or suffering, only eternal peace. He was the son of the late Burl and Joye Bingham Hubbard born August 8, 1955 in Pineville.

Thomas was a coal truck driver, member of the First Baptist Church Artemus and was a hard working man, who dedicated his life providing for those he loved. His greatest blessings were his family and the love he had for them will forever remain in their hearts. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a beloved daughter, Jessica Hubbard; siblings, Burnetta Hammons and Orville Hubbard; niece, Jennifer Hubbard and sister-in-law, Linda Hubbard. What a reunion it must have been as he entered heaven and was reunited with those who had gone before him.

Survivors include his loving wife, Rosa Middleton Hubbard of Barbourville; daughters, Tiffany Turner of Berea and Bridgette Hubbard of Louisville; step-daughter, Bethany Baird of Barbourville; step-son, Kevin Burkhart of Cynthiana; sisters, Kathy Hubbard of Scalf and Patty Frost and husband, Ken, of Barbourville; brothers, Junior Hubbard and wife, Pam, W. B. Hubbard and Clint Hubbard and wife, Lavon, all of Barbourville; cherished grandchildren, Abigail and Xavier Beller, Isabella Hubbard, Bentlee and Blake Turner, Amillia Abner and husband, Jeremiah, and Kardyn, Justin and Zayden Baird; a precious great-granddaughter, Melynnzie Abner; a host of nieces and nephews; among other loved ones and dear friends who will cherish his memory.

His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Wednesday, November 4 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Kennon Roark and Rev. Greg Warren officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Hubbard Cemetery.

Serving as casket bearers will be Ronnie Hubbard, Chase Hubbard, Travis Hubbard, Jacob Hubbard, Barry Hubbard, Kevin Burkhart and Jeremiah Abner. Honorary bearers will be Junior Hubbard, W. B. Hubbard, Clint “Bob” Hubbard, Ken Frost, Kendall Frost, Joe Hubbard, Jason Hubbard, George Hammons, Caleb Hammons and Eric Mills.

Although his absence leaves an emptiness that words cannot describe, his family finds comfort in knowing his suffering has ended and he is resting peacefully in the presence of the Lord. His Earthly journey has ended, but his love will live on forever through the family he leaves behind, the memories they cherish and the lives he touched. Until we meet again in Heaven, we will carry you in our hearts, always.

The family would like to express their deepest and most heartfelt gratitude to all of the doctors and nurses at Baptist Health Corbin who cared for Tom in his final days. Your kindness, compassion and dedication during such a difficult time will never be forgotten. The family would especially like to recognize Dr. Brian Abner for his dedication and devotion to Tom’s care.

Friends may visit at the funeral home Wednesday after 12 Noon until the funeral hour.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
