Triplett Family Gives Back through Fariston’s Haunted Forest

Posted

A local farm’s Halloween attraction has helped stock food shelves for children facing hunger in Knox County.
Lisa and Pleasy Triplett, owners of Fariston’s Haunted Forest, donated the entire event to KCEOC Community Action so the organization incurred no expenses. Visitors were invited to bring shelf-stable food items in exchange for a free hayride around the Tripletts’ farm.
All donated food is being used to create small “food pantries” inside KCEOC Child Development Centers, where staff say they are seeing a growing number of children experiencing food insecurity.
Although the food drive is held in November, KCEOC said donations are needed throughout the year. Monetary contributions can be made at www.kceoc.org/donate.
Anyone seeking more information, wishing to donate or interested in hosting an event on behalf of the program may contact KCEOC.
