A Year of First’s for 6th Grade at Knox County Middle School
It was a year of first opportunities for 6th grade students attending Knox County Middle School. In August, the all incoming 6th grade students from Knox Middle feeder schools moved into their new classrooms at Knox County Middle School. Among the new, was the newly established 6th grade basketball teams.
The Knox County Board of Education recognized the first ever 6th Grade KBC State Boys’ Basketball Champions. Setting the first school record to be built upon, Coach Steve Abner presented each player with their letterman jacket while the Board presented them with a banner that they can display at home.
Only one member of the 8th grade team was available to attend the Board meeting. Representing the Runner Up of the 2024 State Basketball Team, the team also received kudos for 2023 and 2024 13th Region Championships, overall record of 25-3 in 2024 and combined 53-5 in 2023-2024.
