Obituary - Coyt Andy Earls Jr

Mr. Coyt Andy Earls Jr., 79, of Woodbine, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2024 at Baptist Health Corbin. He was the son of the late Coyt Andy Earls Sr. and Mossie Foster Earls born January 8, 1945 in Otsego, WV.

Coyt was a former coal miner and construction company truck driver and a member of the Indian Gap Baptist Church. He found great joy and fulfillment in being out of doors hunting both deer and squirrel and tending his garden and sharing his bounty. He most treasured time spent with his family.

On February 3, 1968, he united in marriage with Pearlie Foley in Jellico, TN.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ella Creech Engle; brothers, Fred and Willard Earls; great granddaughters, Hannah Grace Roark and Liliana Faith Grubb and a special nephew, Anthony Creech.

Survivors include his loving wife of over 56 years, Pearlie Earls; dearly loved children, Chiquita Messer and husband, Berchel, Joann Roark and husband, Jim, Diana Rosskopf, Coyt Anthony Earls and Steven Earls and wife, Jennifer, who shared a special bond with Coyt; a sister, Reba Goodman; a brother, Clif Earls; treasured grandchildren, Brandon Roark and wife, Donna, Jade Mills and husband, Nate, B. J. Messer and wife, Tara, Stephanie McCreary and husband, John, Beth Lewis and husband, Matt, Ashlynn Grubb and husband, Jason, Zach Earls and fiancé, Ashlee and Grant Earls; great grandchildren, Braxton McCreary, Katie Lewis, Jenna McCreary, Kenzie Lewis, Makenna Messer, Angelynn Mills, Sophia Roark, Briella Messer, Jaeley McCreary, Jaxton McCreary, D. J. Roark, Brandi Roark and Noah Grubb; among other loved ones and dear friends.

His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Wednesday, July 24 at 12 Noon with Rev. Daniel Alsip and Rev. David Johnson officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Foley Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be B. J. Messer, Zach Earls, Grant Earls, John McCreary, Braxton McCreary, Matt Lewis, Brandon Roark, Jason Grubb and Nate Mills. Honorary bearers will be Gilbert Moore, Randal Wilson, Donnie Warren and Marvin Garland.

Friends may visit at the funeral home Tuesday between 6 and 8 P.M. and Wednesday prior to the funeral hour.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
