Savanna Hoffman Awarded 2024 Kay Campbell Nursing Scholarship for Knox County

Grace Health is pleased to announce Savannah Hoffman as the 2024 recipient of the Kay Campbell Nursing Scholarship for Knox County. Savannah, a graduate of Barbourville High School with an outstanding GPA of 4.364, has excelled both academically and athletically, earning the Kentucky "All A" Scholarship. She plans to attend the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg this fall to study nursing and join the Patriot archery team, with aspirations of becoming a nurse practitioner focused on serving underserved communities.

Savannah’s academic achievements include being named valedictorian of her class, winning the Conservation Writing Contest for the Kentucky Soil Conservation region, and earning recognition from the National Beta Club Society. She also received an Academic Achievement Award from the House of Representatives for her performance in the 2019 Kentucky Governor's Cup and was honored as an ARH Mountain Student Achiever through WYMT.

In sports, Savannah has been recognized as a Kentucky High School Athletic Association Academic All-State in both swimming and archery. She was named Tri-County Female Archer of the Year and the 2023 Scholastic 3D Archery National Female Shooter of the Year. Notably, she won the 2020 National Archery in the School’s Program State Championship with a near-perfect score of 295/300 and received a Citation of Achievement from the House of Representatives for her overall top female performance at the 2019 Martin’s Peterbilt Bullseye Challenge.

Beyond her academic and athletic successes, Savannah has shown a deep commitment to her community. In 2021, she spearheaded an archery tournament to support her former coach, Stephen Hibbard, after his cancer diagnosis. This annual event now draws over 250 archers, with proceeds benefiting community members in financial need. Last year, the tournament, dubbed “Kinsley’s Kure,” raised over $7,000 for a local kindergartener diagnosed with neuroblastoma. Savannah has also been involved in various other community initiatives, including organizing winter food box drives, establishing a communal garden in downtown Barbourville, and founding the Cumberland River Straight Shooters Club in Laurel County, a non-profit dedicated to fostering archery skills.

Savannah is the daughter of David and Tabatha Hoffman and has a sister, Sadie. Her passion for nursing and unwavering dedication to her community make her a deserving recipient of the Kay Campbell Nursing Scholarship.
