Reeves Reappointed by Governor to KY Ed. Committee

Dr. Jason Reeves, Barbourville has been reappointed to a second term to the Kentucky Department of Education’s School Curriculum, Assessment, and Accountability Committee (SCAAC). The reappointment was issued by executive order from Governor Andy Beshear on August 29, 2024.
The SCAAC provides recommendations to the Department of Education concerning Kentucky’s  P-12 system of academic standards, assessing learning, identifying academic competencies and deficiencies of students, holding schools accountable for learning, and assisting schools to improve their performance. Dr. Reeves’ role on the committee represents university faculty who have extensive experience and expertise in assessment and measurement. Dr. Reeves currently teaches in the University of the Cumberlands’ Ph.D. program in Leadership Studies, for courses in program planning, assessment, and accreditation. 
In addition to this latest appointment with the KY Department of Education, Dr. Reeves has served the field of P-16 in multiple capacities including as a Board of Examiners member and as a Program Reviewer for the KY Education Professional Standards Board. Dr. Reeves has also received the Senator David Karem Award for   outstanding leadership and impact on education policy and the Samuel Robinson Award for Diversity and Equity in Public Education by the KY Department of Education.
Dr. Reeves is currently in his second term as a board member for the Barbourville Independent School District.
