ALERT - Barbourville City School to resume classes on Thursday, Sept. 12

In a post to its Facebook page, Barbourville City School announced it would resume classes on Thursday, September 12, 2024 with an enhanced police presence on the school's campus. The post read:

Tiger Community,
The decision to resume classes tomorrow in our district was not taken lightly, as the safety of our students, staff and families is of utmost importance. Tomorrow, you will see an extra police presence on our campus, and law enforcement and school staff will closely monitor the district throughout the school day. We will continue to monitor the situation in Laurel County and will contact you if the situation changes at any time.
