NOTICE OF INTENTION TO MINE 1 

Pursuant to Application Number 861-5367 NW 
In accordance with KRS 350.055, notice is hereby given that Alden Resources LLC  332 West Cumberland Gap Parkway, Suite 100 Corbin, Kentucky 40701, has applied for a permit for a underground coal mining operation located 2.5 miles northwest of Baughman in Knox County. The proposed operation will disturb  12.66 surface acres within the permit boundary.  
The proposed operation is approximately 0.5 miles east of KY 25E junction with KY 223 and located 0.1 miles north of Stinking creek. 
The proposed operation is located on the Artemus U.S.G.S. 7 ½ minute quadrangle maps. The surface area to be disturbed is owned by James S. Stewart III &  Maryanne Stewart. The operation will affect an area within 100 feet of public road KY  223. The operation will not involve relocation or closure of the public road.  
This is the final advertisement of the application; all comments, objections or requests for a permit conference must be received within 30 days of today’s date. The application has been filed for public inspection at the Division of Mine Reclamation  and Enforcement Middlesboro Regional Office, 1804 East Cumberland Avenue, Middlesboro, Kentucky 40965-1229. Written comments, objections, or requests for a permit conference must be filed with the Director, Division of Mine Permits, 300 Sower Boulevard, Frankfort, Kentucky 40601.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO MINE

Pursuant to Application Number 861-0576 Major Revision  1
In accordance with KRS 350.070, notice is hereby given that Torchlight Energy Inc, 102 Fox Lane, Clinton, TN 37716 has applied for a Major revision to an existing  coal mining and reclamation operation located 2.00 miles north of Bryants Store in Knox County.  The proposed Major Revision will add 0.00 acres of surface disturbance and will underlie an additional 0.00 acres making a total surface area of 39.56 acres within the Major Revision permit boundary.
The proposed Major Revision is approximately 0.75 miles East from KY 1809’s junction with Stoney Fork Road and located 0.10 miles north of an unnamed tributary of Stoney Fork. 
The proposed Major Revision is located on the Barbourville U.S.G.S. 7 ½-minute quadrangle map. The surface and underground area to be disturbed is owned by Jeremy & Genie Waligorski.  
The major revision proposes to add underground method of mining to the existing approved method of auger/highwall mining.
The major revision has been filed for public inspection at the Division of Mining Reclamation and Enforcement Middlesboro Regional Office, 1804 E. Cumberland Ave, Middlesboro, KY 40965.  Written comments, objections, or requests for a permit conference must be filed with the Director, Division of Permits, 300 Sower Blvd., Frankfort, Kentucky 40601. 7t4p


Bid Notice
Knox County Fiscal Court will be accepting bids for the Knox County Sports Complex Field Lighting. Bid packets will be available in the  Judge Executive’s Office on Friday, May 27, 2024. The office hours are Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. till 4:00 p.m. and are to be returned by October 7, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. to the Judge Executive’s Office at which times they will be opened. Bids must be sealed in an envelope mark.
Knox County Fiscal Court reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids and waive all formalities in the bidding process.
