Washington speaks at Study Club meeting

Dr. D. J. Washington, Interim President at Union Commonwealth University, spoke at the Barbourville Woman’s Study Club meeting on Tuesday, October 1, at the Barbourville United Methodist Church. His busy week with his regular schedule and the annual Homecoming at Union did not keep him away from this event. He spoke earnestly, made everyone feel comfortable, and welcomed any questions that the group had. He is very community-minded and shared that he had spoken to many churches, prayer events, community organizations, schools, and other universities. His goal is to have the University and the students to be an integral part of our area. He welcomed locals to be visitors on campus and interact with students and faculty. The Women’s Club is thinking we are fortunate to have such a great individual at the helm of the school.
