Dixon honored for ‘Outstanding Community Service’

It should be no surprise that Marcia Dixon, Barbourville Tourism Director, is an award winner. If you come to Barbourville for any holiday, you could quickly see how she could win awards for all her creativity, imagination, and hard work. On Tuesday, October 1, Marcia was presented an Outstanding Community Service Award by Nancy Hampton and Claudia Greenwood with the Dr. Thomas Walker Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution. Marcia received not only this award from the local DAR chapter but from the fourth district of KY DAR for her initiative of bringing back the May Day Festival in Barbourville. Congratulations are in order for this prestigious award.
