Superintendent Ledford receives new contract during January 7 meeting
During their meeting on January 7, 2025, Knox County Board of Education members voted to approve a four-year contract with current Superintendent Jeremy Ledford, beginning July 1, 2025, and ending June 30, 2029.
The decision to offer the contract was made after the Board reviewed recent academic performance data from the current school year and the summative evaluation they conducted mid-year during their June 13 meeting.

Exemplary marks then, combined with top test scores released in the fall, and the oversight of budget and construction projects, were among the items that Board members used to decide to continue beyond the current contract. At each meeting, Superintendent Ledford provides a monthly update based on the leadership standards for Kentucky superintendents. Those progress notes were some of those items used to support their decision.
“I appreciate the confidence that the Board has instilled in me. It is the KCPS staff and our community that make our district successful. I am proud to be a part of it”, said Superintendent Ledford.
