by Charles Myrick, Publisher

A celebration honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. returns to Barbourville on Monday, January 20.
The day, which is the third Monday of January, set aside as a federal holiday honoring Dr. King, will see the return of the march and program organized by the Barbourville Women of Vision Club. This year’s program marks the first since the COVID-19 pandemic shut down much of the world in 2020.
The march will take place on the campus of Union Commonwealth University, with participants gathering at the Legacy Circle at 11 a.m. for a march to Conway Boatman Chapel where the program will take place. The guest speaker will be Union’s new president-elect, Dr. DJ Washington.
