Mountain Lions win district as Panthers set their sights towards region
Oh what a night in the 51st district as Knox Central and Pineville battled it out in what is sure to go down as an all-time classic.
This one was a nail-biter for four quarters as neither team wanted to give up an inch in this back and forth affair.
However, once the dust finally settled, Pineville found a way to scratch out the hard earned victory over an also deserving Panther squad, winning 76-71.
Ashton Moser led the way for the Mountain Lions with 21 points while Sawyer Thompson finished with 19 points and Jerry Beck came away with 16 points.
Grayson Burton led for the Panthers with 21 points while Evan Hubbard came away with 14 points and Luke Olmstead finished with 12 points.
Now the Panthers will shift their focus towards the 13th Regional tournament next week.
A healthy Knox County requires great community news.
