Burn ban in effect for Knox County

A burn ban was put into effect on Thursday following an executive order from Knox County’s top elected official.
In a memo published Thursday, March 13, 2025 to the Knox Fiscal Court Facebook page, Executive Order 20250313-01 was declared by Knox County Judge-Executive Mike Mitchell. The order states that no outside burning shall take place in Knox County, Kentucky.
The burn ban order in effect indefinitely, until the proclamation has been rescinded by the Judge-Executive’s office via public notice.
“I urge all Knox County citizens to comply with this Executive order so that we can provide for the safety and well-being of our fellow citizens and preserve Knox County(s) timber resources,” Mitchell said.
A healthy Knox County requires great community news.
