Eddie Eugene Smith Obituary

Mr. Eddie Eugene Smith, 66, of Gray, passed away Tuesday morning, April 22, 2025 at his home.  He was born on August 7, 1958 in Corbin, the son of Shirley Overbay Smith and the late J. D. Smith.
Eddie was an auto mechanic and a member of the Keck Baptist Church.  He enjoyed hunting, racing and watching old westerns.  Eddie most enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Fred Smith; a sister-in-law, Rosanne Smith; grandparents, Fred and Martha Frost Smith and James and Charity Setser Overbay.
Survivors include his mother, Shirley Overbay Smith; loving children, Amanda Smith, J. D. Smith and wife, Cara, and Stephanie Smith and husband, Jesse; a sister, Tammy Bargo and husband, Douglas; a sister-in-law, Fran Smith; brothers, Terry and Ricky Smith; treasured grandchildren, Lincoln, Denver, Nora, Maverick, Mason and Hunter Smith; friend and former wife, Victoria Carter and her sister, Connie Carter; among other loved ones and dear friends.
His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Saturday, April 26 at 3 P.M. with Rev. Jimmy Siler and Rev. David Johnson officiating.  He will be laid to rest in the Sexton-Carter Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Josh Carter, Brian McKinney, William Ray Carter, Terry Stanton, Adam Smith, Wade Smith, Lincoln Smith and Mason Smith.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Saturday between 1 and 3 P.M.
