Combined Prayer Event to be held on Thursday, May 1
April 29, 2025

This coming Thursday, May 1st, we are combining two major prayer events into one community gathering on the Knox County Courthouse Square. At noon that day we will join our monthly PRAYER ON THE SQUARE meeting with our annual NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER event! The coming together will hopefully allow a significant number of us to link arms and hearts in interceding for our nation and homes. Actually world events remind us that our praying needs to be focused globally as well.
Our nation’s power and influence shakes the world. Nations look to America for leadership and assistance. As a nation with Judaeo-Christian values, I believe our Creator God holds us to a higher standard. Our Pilgrim Fathers covenanted with God to let us be a shinning light of His character to the whole world.
Our leaders are publicly dealing with wars, judicial boundaries, crime, global economics, historical conspiracies, environmental and health issues. They need guidance from we the people but mostly from the Architect of the Universe. Historically when God’s people assemble and petition the True Lord Jesus Christ for help in times of danger, we receive abundant mercy. This is an opportunity for us to again do so.
The most important element that effects answers, protection, mercy and blessings, is the presence of individuals whose hearts are sincere and passionate. We need to take advantage of this opportunity to gather with other believers and strengthen each others faith, and with spiritual synergism present our requests to our God. Adjust your calendars, get permission to stretch your lunch break, go out of your way to be with us on that day. “Big struggle, part of gift” to our Lord.
JIMMY SILER, past pastor of several of our local churches, will be our guest speaker for this momentous day. We look forward to music, pledges, leaders, prayer, challenging admonitions and hope with joy on the Square this noonday.
We are just a little early with this announcement because of the timing of the paper. Help us get the word out through your churches, social media, clubs and friends. May we represent this community well as we stand before our God.
