Al-Anon meets weekly

Al-Anon (Support for Families and Friends of Alcoholics) meets weekly on Mondays at 6:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Barbourville. We also meet by phone on Saturdays at 12:00 p.m. Call (859) 628- 7606 for more information.

Therapeutic Foster Care

Benchmark Family Services is a Therapeutic Foster Care agency offering free orientation classes for anyone interested in information about becoming a Foster Parent. Please call our office at 606-526-6992 for more information.

Museum is Closed Temporarily

The Knox Historical Museum is now closed to the public temporarily so that the Barbourville Municipal Building can be renovated. We have been assured that the museum may return to its present quarters on the second floor when reconstruction has been completed.

The museum and genealogy department will continue operations at another site but personal visits must be halted until reconstruction has been completed.

Each Friday at 12:30 p.m. Redemption & Recovery meets at East Barbourville Baptist Church. Lunch provided.

Feed My Sheep Community Meal

Feed My Sheep Community Meal is once again starting our free weekly meal. We will serve on each Thursday at 6 p.m. except for 1st Thursday of the month. Hope to see all our old friends. We are located in Corbin on College St in The Barn.

Christmas Decorating Contest

The Barbourville Garden Club will be judging Christmas decorations beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, December 15. The Club invites all citizens of Barbourville to enter in the annual outdoor Christmas decorating contest. Please have your lights on by 6 p.m. on Friday, December 15 for judging. The three categories are: business, church & home. Yard signs will be on display for the First & Second place winners in each category.

KPR Meeting in Corbin

The Cumberland Valley Chapter of the Kentucky Public Retirees (KPR) will meet Tuesday November 28 at David’s Steak House in Corbin, Kentucky. The guest speakers will be Brian Towles, Medicare Specialist for Division of Retiree Health for KPPA, and Tracy Garrison, Humana Representative. Mealtime will begin at 11:30 a.m. with the meeting to follow. Retirees (and spouses) receiving retirement benefits from KERS, CERS, or SPRS are welcome to attend.
