OFF TO THE RACES: Cumberland Run holds historic first race

Cumberland Run, located in Corbin in west Knox County, held its first race on Sunday, October 15, 2023, opening with a day-long celebration that included comments from dignitaries on hand, including Governor Andy Beshear. The event caps off a project over eight years in the making to bring horse racing to Knox County.

Last month, The Mint at Cumberland Run opened, including digital slots and betting. The Mint also operates a larger gaming facility in nearby Williamsburg just off I-75 at exit 11.
