Stovall honored during board meeting

Knox County’s Brittany Stovall, special education teacher at G.R. Hampton Elementary School received unexpected awards for her accomplishments during the Board’s June 13 meeting.

Western Kentucky University recognized Stovall as one of their top nominees for the University’s Distinguished Educator Awards.

The WKU Distinguished Educator Award is designed to celebrate current Kentucky educators in our service region who are making significant contributions to the teaching profession.

In addition to WKU”s award, Stovall was presented a Teacher Leader Award from the district.  “Receiving this recognition is certainly one of the qualifications of our district award as your work has impacted not only students but influenced teachers throughout the state and has been noticed by Western Kentucky (University),” said Frank Shelton, communications coordinator.
