Man charged with murder in stabbing death

As we previously reported, there was a stabbing incident at a Gray residence on KY 1232 at approximately 5:30pm on Tuesday, July 31, 2024. Multiple law enforcement agencies responded including KSP Detective Andy Soltess, Knox County Coroner's Office, Knox County Ambulance, Knox County Sheriff's Department, and Knox County Child Protective Services.

Once on scene it was determined that two men were involved in the incident with 36-year-old Eric Hibbard of Gray stabbing another man yet to be identified. The victim died from the injuries.

Detective Soltess lodged Hibbard in the Knox County Detention Center charging him with Murder.

KSP PIO Trooper Shane Jacobs is expected to release more information as to what lead to the stabbing,
