Collectible periodical postmark to honor 75th festival available beginning October 2

September 28, 2023

With an historical milestone upon us with the 75th Daniel Boone Festival, those interested can commemorate the event in a unique way.

Starting at open of business on Monday, October 2 and going for 30 days, the Barbourville Post Office is offering a unique periodical postmark commemorating the 75th festival.

Deborah Bingham, a Daniel Boone Festival committee member and a postmaster herself in the Pittsburg, Kentucky post office, is credited for bringing the commemorative postmark to fruition for the festival. Bingham, a 30-year veteran of the postal service, also serves as Vice-President of the festival this year.

The 75th festival periodical postmark will be featured in the Central Area Connection newsletter published by the United States Postal Service, as well as the Postal Bulletin, a nationwide publication.
