Obituary - Roy Kinder

Mr. Roy E. Kinder, 76, of Flat Lick, passed away Thursday afternoon, September 12, 2024 at his home. He was the son of the late Charlie and Bonnie Williams Kinder born May 3, 1948 at Artemus.

Roy previously worked for Tremco and retired from TruSeal. He was a member of the Artemus Baptist Church. He enjoyed the outdoors, riding his four-wheeler, picking poke, hunting and fishing. Roy was an avid card player and enjoyed time with his family.

On August 10, 1968, he united in marriage with Wanda Golden.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Faye Hill; a son-in-law, Michael Frederick; a nephew, Charles Blevins and a great-grandson, Vernon James Rice.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda; daughters, Sonya Frederick and husband, Vernon, of Flat Lick and Tanya Simpson and husband, Wayne, of Coalport; sister, Ruth Blevins and husband, Eresel Wayne, of Artemus; brother, James Kinder of Artemus; grandchildren, Jerry Bright and fiancé, Laura Payne, Corey Frederick and wife, Shania, Kendra Rice and husband, Burchell, Josh Davis, Dusty Davis and Austin Davis; great-grandchildren, Michael, Isabella, Harper, Baby Burchell, Austin, Kardyn, Kylie, Jayla, Branch, Raliegh, Aubree, Chloe, Adlee Jo, Lyric, Chance, Lucas, Weston, Nova, Navy, Gannon and Legend; a good friend, Jim Wise; among other loved ones and dear friends.

His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Tuesday, September 17 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Mike Collins officiating. He will be laid to rest in the David B. Howard Cemetery.

Serving as casket bearers will be family and friends.

Friends may visit at the funeral home Tuesday after 12 Noon until the funeral hour.

The family would like to thank Bluegrass Care Navigators for the excellent care they provided Roy during his illness.
