Girl Scouts complete community service projects
September 27, 2024
Local Kentucky Wilderness Road Girl Scounts Troop #239 participated in several community service projects recently.
The Juniors’ service project was refurbishing the old Boy Scouts sign on Daniel Boone Drive, adding a Girl Scouts sign to the structure.
The Brownies’ service project was the restoration of three blessings boxes. Two of the boxes at G.R. Hampton Elementary and one at Thompson Park were refurbished.
The Daisys made encouragement cards as a service project and went to hand them out at Barbourville Health and Rehabilitation Center. “The joy on the residents’ faces when they told our Girl Scouts of their experiences when they were Girl Scouts was priceless,” said Stephanie Lewis.
