New Barbourville ARH CEO introduces himself to Chamber
The Knox County Chamber of Commerce held its monthly meeting on October 29 at Union Commonwealth University. During the meeting, the new CEO of Barbourville ARH Hospital, Beau Masterson, was introduced to those in attendance.
Masterson, a native of Louisville, is a former Navy officer who studied Radiology in college before spending many years in the medical field, working his way up the ladder before taking the helm at Barbourville replacing now-retired CEO Charles Lovell.
“I am fortunate for my situation,” said Masterson when speaking about Lovell and the job he did while at Barbourville ARH, continuing, “I’m blessed to take over an organization in such a good situation.”
In terms of his vision for the hospital, Masterson said, “I want to see our beds full and build up staff service,” and as for building relationships, Masterson added, “I want to build continuity with the Middlesboro branch; I want to make sure we’re supporting each other.”
Masterson also spoke glowingly about the community and everything it has to offer. What he has enjoyed the most, however, is the people. “Everybody has been so kind,” he said.
The new CEO expressed high hopes for the hospital as well as its mission, stating, “we are a very mission driven organization.”
“We need your support and what I mean by that is let us know how we’re doing,” Masterson implored.
In other news, it was announced that the annual Chamber Banquet will take place on Thursday, November 14 at 6:00 p.m. with a reception at 5:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Barbourville.
