Various agencies and concerned citizens were present at the November Knox County UNITE Coalition meeting.
The speaker for the event was Jackie Murphy, KCEOC – CAP Homeless Outreach Coordinator. Jackie spearheads activities to locate, identify, and build relationships with people experiencing unsheltered homelessness for the purpose of providing immediate support, intervention, and connections with homeless assistance programs. Jackie currently covers eight counties and has about eighty-nine clients – approximately thirty from Knox County. She tries to connect at least monthly with those who choose to remain unsheltered to give them food and hygiene supplies. Some she successfully directs to housing, benefits, counseling, and other needed services. To ask questions you may contact Jackie Murphy @ jamurphy@kceoc.com or at 546-3152. A drive for needed supplies will be conducted in January.
Also, at the UNITE meeting, members heard from Brittany Fultz with London Unbridled Healthcare, a facility that supplies telehealth care, home visits, and office visits for both physical and mental health issues.
A healthy Knox County requires great community news.
