Obituary - Danny Lee Henson

Mr. Danny Lee Henson, 75, of Gray, passed away Wednesday evening, November 20, 2024 at the UK Bluegrass Hospice Care Center in Lexington.  He was born on September 1, 1949 at Heidrick, the son of the late Lee and Margarette Faye McWilliams Henson.

Danny was a former core drill operator and a member of the Keck Baptist Church.  He enjoyed watching westerns, the History channel and NFL games.  Danny also treasured spending time with family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Christy Henson Hiles; a niece, Whitley Paige Medlin and a nephew, Dylan Reynolds.

Survivors include his loving sisters, Vivian Henson Sears and husband, Jerry, of Gray and Deborah Henson Baird and husband, David, of Cannon; a brother, Larry Henson and wife, Alana Hammons, of Barbourville; an aunt, Janet McWilliams of Louisville; grandchildren, Megan Davis, Emily Suits and John Hiles; great grandchildren, Abigail, Erica, Ava, Emma and Lilly; several nieces and nephews, Amy Sears Farris and husband, Kelley, Bridgett Sears Elliott and husband, Tyler, Jeremy Sears, David Michael Baird, Olivia Henson Holstein and husband, James,  Ian Henson and wife, Bonnie, and Zachary Henson and wife, Candace; great nieces and great nephews, Kaylee Reynolds, Ayden Demaray, Dawson Elliott, Josie Elliott, Chloe Sears, Allie Holstein, Sophie Holstein and Conor Henson; Emma Woods and Montana House, who he considered daughters; a life-long friend, Faith Gibson; among other loved ones and dear friends.

His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Tuesday, November 26 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Jimmy Siler officiating.  He will be laid to rest in the Yeager and Powell Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Michael Baird, Jeremy Sears, Tyler Elliott, Kelley Farris, Ian Henson, Ayden Demaray, Dawson Elliott and James Holstein.

Friends may visit at the funeral home Tuesday after 12 Noon until the funeral hour.
