Union Commonwealth University, in partnership with the Barbourville First Baptist Church, recently hosted a basketball camp to kick off the 2025 UPWARD/UNITE Basketball season. Led by the university’s men’s and women’s basketball coaches and teams, the event aimed to help young athletes develop basketball skills, build self-esteem, and foster teamwork.
The camp, held at the Barbourville First Baptist Church, welcomed players of all ages to participate in drills, games, and team-building exercises, emphasizing not only athletic ability but also character development. UPWARD/UNITE Basketball is dedicated to encouraging positive values through sports, creating a supportive environment for youth to grow both on and off the court.
Coaches and players from Union Commonwealth University shared their expertise, inspiring the next generation of athletes while reinforcing the importance of discipline, respect, and perseverance in sports and life. The camp served as a perfect foundation for the upcoming season, with hopes of continuing to inspire and mentor young participants throughout the year.
