Motorist stranded overnight during freezing temps
Knox Co 911 Dispatch Center received a call at approximately 7:30 a.m. on Friday, January 19, 2024, regarding a vehicle stuck in a rural area off Owens Hollow Road in Gray.
After searching the area, Knox County Sheriff Deputies located the vehicle occupied by a female driver on a long rural private driveway off Owens Hollow Road. The adult female appeared to be confused and disoriented, experiencing a medical issue.
The woman told deputies that she had been stuck in that location since the previous evening and didn’t have a cell phone. She said she had been running the vehicle’s engine to stay warm.
Deputies contacted EMS, but due to roadway conditions in the area, deputies had to transport the woman approximately 1/4 mile to the awaiting EMS personnel.
She was transported to Barbourville ARH where she received treatment for preexisting medical conditions.
