Obituary - Lovella Mills Dugger

Mrs. Lovella Mills Dugger, 78, of Girdler, the widow of Orlan Mills and Russell Dugger, passed away Sunday afternoon, January 19, 2025 at the Barbourville ARH Hospital.  She was born on June 21, 1946 in Knox County, the daughter of the late Charlie and Ollie Mills Doan.

Lovella was the former owner and operator of Lovella’s Auto Lights and Accessories, a member of the Locust Grove Baptist Church and attended the Old Poplar Creek Baptist Church.  Her dedication and tireless work ethic were evident in everything she did.  She enjoyed watching westerns, especially Gunsmoke, and in earlier years enjoyed fishing.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by sisters, Mossie Gray and Cora Wooldridge and brothers, Clint, W. B. Paul, Charlie Jr. and Roy Doan.

Survivors include her loving daughter, Melissa Mills Wilburn and husband, Jeffery, of Barbourville; sisters, Betty Washknock and husband, Gary, of West Chester, OH, Louella Sears of Somerset, Loveanna Miller of Girdler and Flora Morgan and husband, Tom, of Versailles; brothers, Robert Doan of Ohio and Roger Doan and wife, Linda, of West Chester, OH; a grandson, Adam Jeffery Wilburn of Barbourville; among other loved ones and dear friends.

Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Saturday, January 25 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Brian Smith officiating.  She will be laid to rest in the Binghamtown Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be family and friends.  Honorary bearers will be Denver Gambrel and Grover Gambrel.

Friends may visit at the funeral home Saturday after 12 Noon until the funeral hour.
