Burn ban in effect for Knox
A burn ban is in effect for all of Knox County, Kentucky, per executive order from Knox County Judge-Executive Mike Mitchell.
The order states:
Office of Knox County Judge Executive
Due to current and predicted weather conditions and the
extreme danger of forest fires in Knox County. I, Mike Mitchell,
Knox County Judge Executive do hereby issue the following
Executive Order effective Tuesday, October 7 2023,
NO OUTSIDE BURNING order for Knox County.
All outdoor burning in Knox County is prohibited. This prohibition
is in effect until the proclamation of this Executive Order has been
rescinded by public notice. I urge all Knox County citizens to comply
with is Executive Order so that we can provide for the safety and
well-being of our fellow citizens and preserve Knox County timber resources.
